Portable bridge for tourists installed at Trevi Fountain in Rome

A portable bridge has been installed in the Trevi Fountain, oneof Rome's most iconic landmarks, to allow tourists to view thestatues up close, Azernews reports.

As part of the Holy Jubilee Year celebrations, which will beginin Rome this December, the fountain is currently undergoing repairsand restoration. The Municipality of Rome took this step toaccommodate tourists who came with the expectation of seeing thefountain in its usual form but were disappointed to find it underrenovation. Due to the ongoing work, the water has been drainedfrom the fountain’s pool. However, thanks to the newly installedportable bridge, visitors now have the opportunity to view thefamous sculptures up close.

The restoration work is expected to be completed by the New Yearholidays.

It is worth noting that the last major restoration of the TreviFountain took place in 2014 and lasted for over a year and a half.The historic fountain remains one of Rome’s top attractions,drawing millions of visitors every year.

The Trevi Fountain, completed in 1762, is not only a symbol ofRome but also one of the most photographed landmarks in the world.Over the centuries, the fountain has become synonymous with thetradition of throwing a coin over one's shoulder to ensure a returnto Rome—a ritual popularized by films such as La Dolce Vita (1960).With its ongoing restoration, the Trevi Fountain will remain alasting symbol of Italy’s rich cultural heritage.
