Carrying Capacity, or Carry Weight, in Survival: Fountain of Youth is an incredibly useful stat to have more of because of the nature of the game. As a survival sandbox, players will want to pick up and store every resource they find and bring it back to their base.

The job can get tedious if they make multiple to-and-fro trips across hazardous terrain to transfer these resources to their base. Luckily, players do have an easy way of increasing their total carry weight. Here’s how.

Players can recover their lost loadout if they faint or die due to starvation or the wildlife in Survival: Fountain of Youth. Here's how to find it.

Players will be able to craft a Portable Box to increase their base Carrying Weight by 10 Units from the crafting menu. The Portable Box can be crafted by combining the following ingredients:

All resources become visible on the map if players have discovered the region through mapping.

After the Portable Box has been crafted, it will be automatically placed in the Bag equipment slot, visible in the inventory menu. To increase the Carrying Weight more, players will need to craft better bags to replace the Portable Box. The only way to do so is by exploring the map and discovering rarer resources. In Survival: Fountain of Youth, finding a new resource is the main way to discover new recipes.

Long Sticks can be harvested from Jurema Preta Trees (pictured above). These trees are mid-sized, thin-branched trees with a small canopy. They grow inside and outside Jungles; players will find them everywhere on the Island of Hope. And since these trees often grow in groups, players will be able to take a lot of Long Sticks from a single location.

Long Sticks require a Stone Axe to harvest.

Players can also obtain 5 Long Sticks by cutting down a common log.

Wide Leaves can most commonly be harvested from Ferns that grow in groups of five or six, low to the ground. These leaves don’t require a tool to harvest and can be directly plucked from the ground. Each plant contains 7-9 Wide Leaves and grows all over the islands.

Ferns are not marked on the map.

Wide leaves can also be harvested from other plants with large leaves, like Palms.

Narrow Leaves are the most abundant resource on the islands, found on nearly every Palm tree in the game. Narrow leaves are also often found on the ground, meaning players don’t have to spend energy harvesting them; they can just pick them up from the ground.

An alternative option available to players is the Leather Backpack, a high-level bag that increases the carry weight of the player by 22 units. In the early game, this bag can only be picked up from the chest during the tutorial phase before the ship gets destroyed. Among the 10 items players will have the chance to bring to the island, the Leather Backpack is inarguably the most useful. If players do not choose the Backpack at this stage, they can only wait to craft it later in the game when the recipe unlocks after studying Leather.

The Strength stat in Survival: Fountain of Youth governs a player's natural carrying limit. Higher Strength means they'll be able to carry more, and lower Strength means the opposite.

Players can check their Strength level at any time by going to the character sheet from the pause menu and looking at Strength under the Skills tab.

Strength can be increased by fighting in melee combat and carrying heavy loads by over-encumbering themselves and trying to walk. Leveling up Strength increases the max carry weight by a flat percentage of the player's total carrying capacity, and this number keeps going up as players level up.
