Home on east side of Webb City suffers extensive fire damage
Webb City Fire were assisted by Joplin Fire and Duenweg Fire at 816 E Fountain Road.
WEBB CITY, Mo. — Just after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2023, reports of a fire in the 800 block of East Fountain Road alerted 911 services.
Webb City Fire and METS ambulance responded to a residence that borders inside the city limits. Joplin Fire Dept and Duenweg Fire were dispatched as auto-mutual-aid.
The hose was a long lay down from Hall Street east on Fountain Road and a long driveway to south at 816 E Fountain Road. We measured about 1,200 feet of hose to the house (see video).
On scene we learn a single-story wood framed structure suffered extensive fire damage. Neighbors reported hearing crackling and reported the fire.
According to witnesses resident was not home at the time of the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation with the Webb City Fire Marshal.
There were no injuries to firefighter battling the blaze.
