A truck again fell near the fountain in the center of Skopje, in "Macedonia" square, after the tile floor collapsed.

The municipal services from NP "Water and Sewerage", whose competence is the maintenance of the fountains, have notified about the incident after checking what exactly happened.

From the City of Skopje, on the other hand, they reported that the truck did not have permission to enter the square.

"A subject, with a truck, entered Macedonia Square without permission, causing damage to the tiles of the square. The City of Skopje strongly condemns this act, will take all legal measures to carry out inspections and sanctions, after which compensation will be requested for the damage caused to public goods in the square. Such behavior on the part of individuals is unacceptable and the strictest sanctions will be applied to it", announced the City of Skopje.

It is not the first time that a truck falls in the area near the fountain.

A city utility truck crashed into the fountain in June 2017 in front of the stage that was being set up to welcome the handball players who were declared European champions.

Last year in March in the same fountain, a truck from "Municipal Sanitation" collapsed ten days after it was promoted as part of the public enterprise's fleet.

The former mayor of Skopje, Koce Trajanovski, during whose mandate the square was built, has clarified several times that the area near the fountain does not support heavy weights, so it is necessary to avoid passing work or hygiene equipment in that area.

The tile floor near the fountain was put into use in 2015 as part of the "Skopje 2014" project.
