Reb Fountain Announces New Album and New Zealand Tour
To celebrate the release of ‘How Love Bends’, Fountain and her band are embarking on a nationwide tour in 2025

Reb Fountain is setting the stage for a remarkable return with her upcoming album How Love Bends, slated for release on March 7th.
The latest record dives into love’s complex, often chaotic nature, pushing boundaries through soundscapes crafted with long-time collaborators Dave Khan and Simon Gooding.
After the success of her critically acclaimed albums, including the Taite Music Prize-winning Reb Fountain in 2020 and Iris in 2021, which debuted at No. 1 in New Zealand, Fountain’s work remains rooted in emotional exploration, weaving poetic lyricism with a mix of folk and alt-pop.
As a deeply personal project, How Love Bends is a “mystical triumph,” as Fountain describes it, emerging from life’s intensity and vulnerability. This theme is reflected in her latest single, “Forever”, an atmospheric track that she describes as a “surreal exploration into the known and mystical.”
“’Forever’ was born of a dream; I woke up in the night with a melody, scraps of lyrics, the chorus, and a basic outline,” she said.
“That day Dave Khan and I built the song from this vision. I wanted the atmosphere of the song to harness the sage wisdom of the dream, to feel like a surreal exploration into the known, unseen, and mystical. It was also a chance to express the plight of the subconscious, wrestling with and coming to terms with one’s self—myself. I look forward to the next incarnation—putting this dreamwork into practice live on stage!”
The album, recorded at Neil Finn’s Roundhead Studios, marks yet another milestone in a career full of high points.
Accompanying How Love Bends, Reb Fountain has announced a national tour for April and May 2025, with eleven shows from Tauranga to Auckland. Known for unforgettable performances at events like Nick Cave’s 60th birthday tribute, Fountain’s live connection with fans is palpable, making this tour an essential experience.
The 11-date tour will take Fountain and her band across New Zealand, starting in Tauranga and moving through cities such as Wellington, Auckland, and Christchurch.
